Another advantage to LVT is that it is less labor intensive to install than natural stone or ceramic tile but, DON'T confuse it with cheap, Do-It-Yourself peel 'n stick vinyl tile. LVT is a breed all its own. Products like Armstrong's Alterna LVT is composed of a limestone base with protective vinyl wear layers. It is thin and lightweight and can be installed anywhere with or without grout lines in about half the time it takes to install a ceramic floor. There are different methods of installation for LVT including glue-down and floating. Manufacturers of LVT have done an amazing job at mimicking the look of real stone. Once installed, it can be hard to notice that it is not "the real McCoy."
